Dogs In Our Pedigrees
We do not own and did not breed any of these dogs. They are shown to provide a better understanding of dogs who have had an influence on our breeding program.

"Teddy"
Teddy is Rowan's sire and one of the dogs that inspired me to get into the breed. He was bred by Suzanne Fernau of Gooseberry Kennel in South Carolina, a program I long admired for the beautiful heads, breed type, and structure found in her dogs. Suzanne has since passed away, but I hope to preserve some of signature beauty of her lines in my own dogs. Teddy was an impressive boy who won multiple group placements amid tough west coast competition, as well as several National Award of Merit placements owner-handled. Most importantly, he was his owner Teresa's best friend. Teresa now owns Teddy's grandson Jaxon from our litter with Saltmarshe Field Spaniels. We are really proud to have one of Rowan's sons with her so she can have a piece of Teddy's legacy.

"Bunny"
Bunny is Rowan's dam and bred by Winters' Haven Kennel, home to versatile performance dogs titled in hunting and multiple sports. Bunny followed in those footsteps. She was a super sweet and cuddly girl but also very serious hunter in the field, proving Field Spaniels can still perform their original function. She was one of the first Field Spaniels I ever met, and her bright and outgoing personality helped draw me in to the breed. Bunny was the cherished pet of her owner, Sonya.

"Henri"
Henri is Prim's sire. You may notice he is a unique color pattern, roan (also known as bicolor with ticking). This pattern is less common but completely acceptable, and historically it has always existed in the breed. Henri was imported from France and comes from French and Dutch lineage. He was bred by Frederique Petit at Elevage du Kreizker kennel. Henri is a friendly, lovable boy with a great personality. He has contributed some excellent qualities to his offspring not often found in American Field Spaniels, such as beautiful head planes and length of muzzle, and proper length and spring of rib, all of which aid in retrieving and performing field work.

"Maiko"
Maiko is Prim's dam. She is one of the top winning bitches of all time in our breed, and the first and only Field Spaniel to have earned both a Best In Show and a hunting title. Maiko was the #1 ranked Field Spaniel in 2018 (breed and all-breed). She is a truly versatile girl, close to achieving her Master Hunter title, and is also titled in tracking and barn hunt. She succeeds at whatever she sets her mind to. Maiko has an incredible outgoing attitude and beautiful flowing movement, along with a beautiful head and expression that makes your heart skip a beat. I am truly honored that her breeder Karen Balinski of Killara Field Spaniels entrusted me with one of her daughters as a foundation for our breeding program.

"Lewis"
Lewis is Willow's sire and Prim's maternal grandsire. He was bred by Carla Bunkleman of Blackbrier Field Spaniels in Idaho. Lewis finished his championship in just 4 showings. Two of those placements were winning Winners Dog at two separate National Specialties, something no other FIeld Spaniel has ever done. He is a beautiful mover. Most importantly, Lewis has a stellar temperament and is an absolute sweetheart. He is a chill dog and loves to bask in attention on the grooming table and get loved on. Willow takes after her dad with her calm and loving temperament.

"Gideon"
Gideon is Willow's maternal grandsire. He is one of the most winning dogs in our breed history. He was the first black Field Spaniel to win a Best In Show, having won a total of 23 Best in Shows in his career. He was ranked the #1 Field Spaniel in 2013 and 2014 (all breed), as well as the #3 Sporting Dog, a huge achievement. He also won Group First at the prestigious AKC National Championship in 2014. Gideon has a magnetic presence and confident, outgoing attitude. I'm excited I have his granddaughter in my program, and his breeder, Jane Kellar of Promenade Field Spaniels, has been a real help to me.

"Jack"
Jack is the sire of Lewis (above) and behind the pedigree of both my girls, Willow and Prim. He is another beautiful example from Suzanne Fernau's Gooseberry Field Spaniels. To me Jack embodies the ideal Field Spaniel outline and head, a combination of beautiful type and sound structure. He was only shown on a limited basis but won our National Specialty and a National Award of Merit. Jack was a serious, level-headed dog who kept with the docile character of our standard. I often keep the image of Jack in my head when thinking of the Field Spaniel I am aiming toward.

"Henry"
Henry hardly needs an introduction. He is the top winning dog in our breed's history. He has been influential on many breeding programs, including my own, especially because he is the sire of both Teddy and Jack (above) and Rowan's paternal grandsire. Henry achieved what few Field Spaniels have ever managed to do. He won 11 Best In Shows, 51 Group First placements, and 150 total Group placements. In 2002, he earned Group Second at the extremely prestigious Westminster Dog Show, something no other Field Spaniel has done before or since. He won Best In Specialty Show at our National Specialty a total of 7 times, more times than any dog of any breed. Henry was sound well into old age, and won his last National Specialty at age 14 (pictured). Henry was the embodiment of soundness and health and brought the Field Spaniel into the public eye for many people, a true ambassador of our breed.

"Darcy"
Darcy is Rowan's maternal grandsire and the sire of Gideon (above). He was bred by Peter Archer of Winfarthing Field Spaniels. The minute I laid eyes on Darcy, I was enchanted. Darcy was my biggest inspiration getting into the breed, as I was totally won over by his sparkling personality, sweet expression, and overall beauty. Darcy was not just a pretty face but a true all-around breed representative. He made therapy visits to hospitals and was a successful show partner to his junior handler, Grace. An accomplished hunting dog, he was only one leg shy of a Master Hunter title, and most impressive, he was the first and only Field Spaniel to win a Field Trial in Canada against field-bred working dogs. (Field Spaniels are not eligible to compete in Field Trials in the US.) A model of soundness, he showed and worked well into his teen years. He was beloved by his owners Sonya and Grace.

"Mai Tye"
Mai Tye is Prim's maternal granddam and the dam of Maiko (above). She is exactly what we mean when we say a Field Spaniel can do it all. This girl has titles in nearly every performance venue available, including rally, agility, obedience, barn hunt, hunting, and tracking. Mai Tye was the first Champion Tracker Field Spaniel Bitch. She is a Master Hunter and is only one leg away from achieving her obedience Utility Dog title. She is also highly accomplished in the show ring, with multiple National Specialty Awards of Merit, Select Bitch placements, and Best Veteran wins, all owner-handled. Her truly stunning array of accomplishments are a testament to her breeder and owner, Karen Balinski. I am very grateful to have Mai Tye behind my breeding program.
